Oops: The Daily Beast Inadvertently Boosts Sales of Company Selling HCQ and Ivermectin
The outlet, which describes itself as “intelligent,” has unintentionally bolstered the sales of the very business it sought to condemn.

In an unexpected development, The Daily Beast, a leftist outlet known for berating “anti-vaxxers” and the MAGA movement, just made a big-time miscalculation. The outlet, which describes itself as “intelligent,” has unintentionally bolstered the sales of the very business it sought to condemn, The Wellness Company.
The Hit Piece
The Wellness Company has emerged from COVID-19 as an alternative healthcare solution to conventional medicine, focusing on holistic solutions and deprescribing its customers off their pharmaceutical medications.
The Daily Beast article, titled “MAGA Influencers Are Sold on This Grifty Wellness Company,” paints Dr. Peter McCullough, world-renowned cardiologist and The Wellness Company’s Chief Scientific Officer, as a “misinformation superspreader.”
“McCullough has falsely claimed COVID-19 vaccines have killed thousands of Americans, and advocated the use of ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine to treat the virus.”
The Daily Beast also targeted Yale Professor Emeritus and The Wellness Company’s Chief Epidemiologist, Dr. Harvey Risch, for promoting hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19.
The article featured a comment from Dr. David Gorski, who criticized a hydroxychloroquine study frequently referenced by Dr. Risch, labeling it as “one of the dumbest studies I’ve ever seen.”
The Daily Beast’s biggest misstep occurred when it targeted The Wellness Company’s products. This move unintentionally highlighted how individuals can obtain various life-saving medications like ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, Z-Pak, and more without needing an in-person doctor’s appointment — as well as spike detox solutions.
“Fortunately, The Wellness Company offers a variety of products for such doomsday scenarios, including a Medical Emergency Kit and a COVID Emergency Kit, both priced at $299.99 ($249.99 for members). The COVID kit contains both ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, while the Emergency kit offers ivermectin alongside a variety of antibiotics and anti-nausea medication,” wrote The Daily Beast.
“The supplement that appears most often in podcast ads and partnerships with influencers is their ‘Spike Support Formula,’ marketing with the tagline: ‘Remember the pre-COVID days?’ At $64.99 per bottle, the blend of ‘nattokinase and dandelion root’ promises to provide ‘natural immune support.’”
The Hit Piece Backfires
Vigilant News reached out to The Wellness Company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Peter Giloolly, for comment following the hit piece from The Daily Beast.
Mr. Gillooly said, “Being the target of a smear campaign by the Daily Beast is a badge of honor. It shows that the work that we are doing to build a parallel healthcare system - one that puts patients above profit - is working.”
The Wellness Company CEO also mentioned that traffic to The Wellness Company’s website – and sales – both surged shortly after The Daily Beast’s article went live. According to Google Trends, searches for “The Wellness Company” increased as much as fourfold its normal amount just hours after the article was published.
Regarding the sales uptick, Mr. Gillooly commented, “In their attempt to spread hate and defame, The Daily Beast and Dr. Gorski inadvertently helped numerous people suffering from COVID and the vaccine.”
Additionally, Foster Coulson, The Wellness Company’s Founder and Chairman, has pledged $150,000 in monthly ad spend to Elon Musk’s “X” in the wake of several major (woke) corporations pausing their ads following a Media Matters hit piece on the platform.
“I’ll pledge The Wellness Company will spend $150,000 per month.”
